Urban Decay Naked 3 Review

I finally caved and decided to buy the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I have the original Naked palette, which I love, but I do not have the second one (which I am seriously lusting after).

The box looks absolutely beautiful. I love that Urban Decay shows the colours that are included in the palette on the exterior of the box. It's a great way to see if you like the colours or not before you actually purchase it. The box has a pretty minimalistic design. On the front this is all you see and on the back it shows what is included, ingredients, and all that fun stuff. It's not a cluttered design, which is nice.

The case of the palette is very pretty too. It's a rosy pink colour which is great because the shadows included are mainly pinks and mauves. I'm not sure how I feel about the ripply effect of the case, but it doesn't affect it any way. I like the way this one closes too. It's much more secure than the magnet of the original Naked palette.

The colours are a great range from light pink to dark mauve shades. The shadows are really pigmented, which is great, and are easy to apply. I have noticed that some have quite a bit of fall out, so I have to make sure I hold a kleenex underneath my eye. They are still all very pretty and are very wearable. They don't make your eyes look red or tired (which some pink shadows can do) so that's definitely a plus.

The price for this palette is $62. It does seem quite pricey but when you look at the fact that you get 12 full sized shadows in a palette (which typically run at $22-24 individually) you are definitely getting more bang for your buck. The palette also includes a shadow and crease brush, as well as a sample of four shadow primers. I would give this palette a 4/5 and will definitely be on the lookout for new Urban Decay palettes.

Valentine's Day Playlist

Seeing as tomorrow is Valentine's Day, I thought I would do a post featuring some of my favourite love songs, or songs that I think are very sweet. It's always nice to get into the spirit for this kind of event, I think, even if you don't really like Valentine's Day. It's a great way to celebrate that special someone, or your friends, or family, in my opinion. You take your time to do a little extra something. You should always let them know how much you care and appreciate them, but it's nice to spoil them a little bit, don't you think? Anyway, here is my Valentine's Day Playlist.

Love is an Open Door by Kristen Bell and Santino Fontana
Rule the World by Take That
Like a Star by Corinne Bailey Rae
Somebody to Love by Queen
Don't Go Breaking My Heart by Elton John and Kiki Dee

Where I've Been

Hello everyone! It has certainly been quite a while since I've posted on here. Instead of coming up with all these crazy excuses I'm going to tell you the truth: I wasn't feeling motivated to post. It's really sad because I always loved posting on here. Trying to come up with different ideas, reviewing books I've read, being a part of the blogosphere is so much fun! I honestly don't know why I stopped. And then of course school came and with it came quite a bit of school work. I'm in my third year of university now and the professors definitely expect a lot from us as students. Almost too much, I think.

I really want to start posting again though. I want to post recipes I've tried, makeup looks, hairstyles, fashion, book reviews, crafts, and anything else fun. I think this blog sort of evolved into something strictly about writing and books, which I absolutely love, but that's not my whole life. I enjoy doing so many other things as well so I want to include those as well. I know I've said this before but my goal is to post at least once a week. I'm going to give myself some flexibility here though. Seeing as it's almost the end of the term there are a lot of final essays and readings being assigned. If I don't post every single week it's because school does come first for me. But I will try my very best to post consistently!
